The Offer He Couldn't Refuse

I started shopping for bikes back in November and the guys at Fraser Bike in Fitness are basically the one-stop-shop for all things tri in SE Michigan.  I had an idea what bike I wanted but I wasn’t sure if the geometry style would be the right fit.  With the help of Ron Schmid and Chris Goddard, they were able to measure me on their fit bike and determine which bike geometry would be ideal for me.  After some precise measuring, they were able to tell me that the Long and Low geometry that I was looking for would work, but the harder decision was still to come.
Lucky for me the guys at Fraser were more than accommodating in going through the details, describing what would work and why, all while answering a seemingly endless number of emails and phone calls from me! They even built up these two beauties with my fit coordinates for me to get a feel for them!
When it was all said and done, the question I was left to answer was Cervelo P2 or Cervelo P3.   I loved the looks of the P2, even thought it was spec’ed out pretty poorly.  The price was attractive but I was concerned with being left trying to ebay a bunch of junk components after swapping things out and customizing my build.  The P3…well, it’s the P3.  A little steep in price but if there a bike that needs no introduction, it's the P3.  The components set was a little better but there was something bothering me about riding one of the most popular in the market in it’s stock configuration.  I like to be a little unique and for the steeper price tag, I’d have little room left to upgrade.
In between Sizes!!(51 and 54)   Believe it or not my fit was identical in these two builds!
In the midst of all of this, I had some sponsor and team applications out there, so I really decided to drag my heals on a decision.  After all is was November and I was in no real hurry to buy. I decided to sleep on it (for over a month) and for once my indecisiveness really paid off.   The Cervelo Share a Ride Program came along and pretty much sealed the deal.  Since I had been working with the shop for a while now and already had spend a decent amount of cash with them, they were willing to honor the deal, even though this program was not in the best interest of the local dealers.

So, a "Big Ups" to Ron, Chris and Fraser Bike!  The guys Fraser really know there stuff and have an inventory that seriously makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop!

I'll have pics of my new ride next time - promise!

Until then - hope all is great!
